Will an apple a day really
keep the doctor away? It just might!
And - it certainly can't hurt! Apples
have been championed by health experts in
fighting against colon cancer and in boosting
alertness.
Here are some more diet-wise
reasons why it's smart to grab a basket
of apples at the market.
Apple's may be more effective in waking
a body up in the morning. That crisp snappiness
can even work on grown-ups as the morning
apple has been shown to more effective in
waking individuals than the standard
cup of coffee.
Apples help rid unwanted water (connected
with water retention) from the body. If
you've recently consumed foods that are
high in salt content, an apple will help
release the pent-up water. And of course,
water weighs heavily and may present a false
number on the weight scales.
Apples are moderate in calories - about
80
calories per small apple and about 100 calories
per medium apple. The apple is also
a good source for Vitamin C.
